Ordering
Purchasing:
We do not have a regular retail shop so all sales are made on-line direct from our warehouse. This helps us to keep our costs low and consequently allows us to bring you lower prices. Presently, we stock/import Faller and Pola G brands.
If you order, at a particular price, an item that is not currently in stock, we feel that we owe it to you to supply it at that price when it eventually arrives. We will NOT alter the price of an already-purchased item, despite that there may be cost changes as a result of currency adjustments. We believe that we have an ethical duty to behave in this manner.
To try to keep costs under control, we have a minimum purchase requirement of $40.00 per order. The average order value affects to a great extent our costs in respect of acceptance of credit cards. The smaller the average cost of an order, the greater the chance that we will have to pay to the acceptor of the cards, what can be crippling costs. Again, it is another way of ensuring that our product cost is low. For regular customers, we will accept their payments direct into our bank account, the number of which will be given to customers when they request it.
Supply:
Presently, we have supply arrangements only with Faller, for their goods under the ‘Faller' and ‘Pola G' trademarks. Our intention is to build up stocks of the Faller items in ‘HO' and ‘N' so that we are able to sell to a large extent from stock. ‘Z' and ‘Pola G' items will be sold only receipt of orders from customers, for the meantime. Subsequently, we will be offering goods from other manufacturers of quality railway-based kitsets.
If an item that you wish to buy is not in stock, use the 'notify me' button to order it and we will order it from the manufacturer. The projected dates of our next order to the manufacturer are shown at the bottom of this 'Ordering' section.
You will notice that there is a ‘signal' alongside each item. This is an interactive system that will change automatically should the stock situation change as a result of a purchase.
‘Green' signifies that the item is in stock. Turnaround is usually with 48 hours from receipt of your order.
‘Yellow' signifies that the item, although not in stock, has been ordered and is on its way to us. We will notify you when it arrives.
‘Red' signifies that the item is not presently held in stock by us. The next order date (see below) will tell you, however, when are going to send our next order to that manufacturer.
While we endeavour to keep our data-bases up to date and accurate, we are only human and sometimes (rarely I hope) our indicators of stock availability may be incorrect. Please accept our apologies if this happens.
Payment:
Payment is generally through a secure site with encryption of credit card details. We do not hold credit card details in store. Credit card payments will be accepted through Paymate. Please do not send cash through the post. Note, however, that for customers whom we know, we will accept payment direct into our bank account. Details of our bank account will be given out only upon confirmed orders.
Prices are in New Zealand dollars but purchasers are able to see approximate prices in a different currency if they so require. Payment , however, will be in N.Z. Dollars. Please be aware that there may be a small difference between the approximate indicated price and the amount that will show on your credit card statement.
New Zealand purchasers will need to add G.S.T. to the prices as prices shown EXCLUDE G.S.T. (GST is added during the checkout process to those whose payment address is within New Zealand).
Shipping:
Within New Zealand, delivery is by N.Z. Post or by Fastway Couriers if required. Pack and Deliver costs within New Zealand will be a calculated rate based on the size of the item. We will aggregate items where possible, to keep charges as low as possible.
Outside New Zealand, delivery will be through the postal system with prices varying according to destination country, again at a calculated rate.
Note that we will never under-declare the value of goods shipped overseas, so please don't request this.
Also note that first-time deliveries for any particular customer will be to their home address as indicated on the order form. Only subsequent deliveries may be requested to be delivered to an alternative address.
Insurance:
All items sent via the postal system have automatic insurance up to $NZ250.00, to any destination. If you require a greater level of insurance than this, please advise us.
